scRAPING pegs
I guess I got a decent lean angle in a fast long curve today, first time I have ever rubbed a peg(actually the metal tip underneath), scared the crap out of me, but it was an awesome curve nevertheless.
You guys have this happen a good bit

Sounds cool -- glad you came out of the turn alive and without dropping the bike and your heart still without need of a pacemaker to keep it at a normal rate. I'm still riding like my Grandmother but I've only got about 1,000 miles under my belt so far. Gotta' work on getting my lane positioning right before I can increase my turn speeds.
The bike will lean over much farther safely (provided your tires aren't new, haha), so don't panic if the feelers scrape. Just stay loose, smooth and keep your eyes looking through the corner.
Never scraped the pegs, but did scrape the lower cowling. Scared the crap out of me when it happened....managed to stay upright though. When changing the oil, I took off the cowling and noticed that it was scraped on both sides. I never noticed when it scraped on the other side.
yeah, Im um going to work on these curves some more before I get too crazy with it, I havent laid my bike down yet and I really dont want to if I can help it..................but at what point does riding too slow become no fun
I don't know about you........but for me (keep in mind I'm a mom too) I generally don't ride much more than 10 to 20 clicks over the speed limit, depending on the circumstances. I am still having a blast with that.
In all honesty - I enjoy motorcycling for many different reasons, other than speed. I guess its all in your mindset at the time.........
Or I'm just getting OLD!!

The yellow (advisory) speed limit signs provide a good benchmark. My rule is: Never go more than 10 miles an hour over twice that speed limit.
A good way to remember this is, "If the sign says twenty, then 50 is plenty." But experiment on familiar roads (or better yet, the track) and find your own comfort zone.
Cornering fast is like alcohol: overindulgence can result in an early death, but sipping once in a while is fun too. If you enjoy it responsibly you'll probably live to a ripe, happy age with many experiences and memories.
And similarly, when I've crashed and broken bones in the past, I swore to myself more than once, "I'm never going to ride that crazy again." But then once the broken bones are healed, it's as if the hangover had passed.
These guys you meet at gas stations who say, "Oh I used to ride a bike, but I crashed once and those things are just too dangerous" sound su****iously like AA graduates too.

+1 to that
The "feel" is the diff on your ride. So the feel for me on my rides are 2-3x the posted. Depending of course weather and road side conditions.
