It wasn't on there when I got it. Should there have been one for that year? It doesn't look like there was one on it prior to me getting it. I was actually considering buying one.

Yeah there should have been one on your bike originally. You should probably just get the full fairing kit to replace it. Targa has a bunch at targa-acc.com

Thanks! I can't wait to get it out of the shed and clean her up - I can't believe how dirty it is. We're getting better weather, the snow is almost all gone, the sun is shining more often but it is still pretty cold out though. I'll put up some pics after I get it all cleaned up, maybe even get some with my car too, that'll be back home in May.

New bike owner, just got my 500 last week. Just stock, looking to find some cheap upgrades though once i get the hang of riding it faster than the speed limit lol.[IMG][/IMG]

SO yester day I went out for a ride with the guys and hit 120MPH. It was crazy. At that speed my boyfriend flew past me with a smile on his face. I had so much fun. can't wait to go out again next weekend. :)

Vasmel22 - that is nuts! 120 mph!!! Geez, I was out last night and hit 70 mph - plenty fast enough for me! It was one hell of a rush though! It helped make up for dropping the bike though! |

Well, I broke my record. 135MPH. Hella fast and mad scary after. So How do I post my bike? I am not a computer guru.

this is my girlfriend's 87 ex500
we just got it running today... after driving it back from chicago to boulder, new batt, new chain and sprockets, new surachu race pipes, new carb kits and new/used carbs from ebay. i didn't manage to investigate the choke before i installed the carbs... anyone know choke on = more or less air? reason i ask is it runs ok with the choke on but, not well with it off... would help me to tune if i knew which way i was going :) [IMG]local://upfiles/1293/732970A8CB8D434095C8E2F907E2FC34.jpg[/IMG] |

Don't know for sure about the choke (I'm not very good with the technical side of things) but that is one wicked looking 500! I hope your girlfriend likes it - it looks sweet!!!

Runs with choke on souds like carb problem, check all the vac hoses and clean them. Pay special attention to the pilot jets and make sure you can see through them. If you use spray carb cleaner get at least 6 cans. Need more help with cleaning pm me and I can send you some detailed pictures of when I did mine.

nice, i was expecting to get a 250 all this time, but chances are i'll be getting a used silver 04 500.....guy took the decals off so i'm gonna hafta buy some, or i'm just gonna repaint it in teh winter and powdercoat the rims.

yeah i would get the 500. i would paint it and then get the decals for it. i was thinkin about paintin mine but right now im workin on gettin a pipe for it. i would paint it a color you never see on the 500's. you know stand out in a crowd. i just aint got the money to do all this for my bike right now. i got a crappy payin job.

same here, im still young, and i got 4k saved, so teh bike will cost about 3400 after all fees adn costs. then i'll save to get it painted in teh winter.......not a fan of silver top and black bottom. looks generic especially with no decals.

hey big rig your bike is gorgeous, i can't wait for my zx 12r my uncle just purchased the gsxr 1000 04 that's whats under the cover next to mine. but since he doesn't have the licence and the course training for a few more weeks, luck me, i get to baby sit that wild animal, and the best part of babysitting that beast, is that i get to take her out for her daily excercise.
