Default owners manual & scheduled maintenance

Hey everyone. I just picked up an '03 500R but the seller didn't have an owner's manual. Do you all maybe have a link to the manual in .pdf format? I'm also wondering if there's a list of maintenance items and common issues with these bikes that someone has compiled on this site?

The owner's manual is really not helpful at all once you've got the Factory Service manual.
The owner's manual only has enough information to tell you what your bike will need; the factory service manual and supplement will tell you what your bike will need and how to provide it.
The factory service manual and supplement are around $70, but you might be able to find a good deal on Ebay if you're patient. But even if you pay full-price at a dealership, it will eventually pay for itself many times over.
If you plan on trading up to an I4 600 in the next year, just get a copy of the owner's manual. But if you plan to keep your 500 a little longer, and want to learn a little about yourself and the internal combustion engine, I recommend getting only the factory service manual. Either way, GOOD LUCK.
Peace!

Are the Haynes, Clymar, or Speed Wrench manuals decent? I've seen Haynes manuals for cars and they're pretty crappy. Worth it to hunt down a factory manual?
