New 2 Forum
Hey, I'm new to the forum and I would first like to say a few things about myself. I own a '94 Kawi Ninja 500. It's been sitting for almost SIX YEARS!!! I gave $500 for it the summer before last. I couldn't get it running over this previous summer because of finances.
But, my close friend, who previously owned, a 2004 Honda CBR 600RR whipped my a$$ in gear and I have invested a little over $400 in it so far.
A List of the Parts Include:
1. Carbs completely cleaned
2. New Battery
3. New Motion Pro Throttle Cables
4. CDI Box[:@]"Expensive"
5. Oil Filter
6. Maxum Maxima 4 Oil
7. New Wires and Plugs
8. Tank Kreem "To coat the Tank"
9. Fuel Filter
10. Fuel Petcock
11. New Replacement Gas Tank Cap
"That's not everything I needed, but the majority. Hopefully, it seems like the more we break this bike down the more things we find that needs to be replaced."
If it wasn't for my friend I probably wouldn't have gotten as far as I have. No, wait I know I wouldn't have.
He has not only helped me mechanically, but has helped me re-ignite the spark that I once had for motorcycles. Before, buying this bike two summers ago, I owned a '93 Kawi Ninja 250. I had it for about 2 months and totaled it in June of 2005. Two months later I ran across this Ninja 500 that I own now. I figured $500 was too good of a deal to pass up and jumped on it. NO REGRETS so far, and can't wait to ride as soon as project is finished.
I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. And in the meantime if you have any questions about problems with your bike just ask. I'm sure that either i've already ran into it or I can find info. on it to help you.
-Thanks,

Sounds like you got a great deal with your 500.[8D] Once that bike bug bites, you'll be infected for life! So can you actually ride the 500 yet?
Welcome to the Kawi family, and good luck on your endeavor!

Tell me about it, I tried Calamine Lotion.....LOL
Anyways, No it's not fireing over yet.
But, it will crank, so at least I know my starter solenoid and starter are funtioning properly.

Welcome Kawi and if you know which parts you need (ignition coils, spark plug wires, wiring harness, engine parts, carbs, etc., etc., let me know. I just happen to have a freshly-totalled '02 EX500 with lots of parts in very good condition. No charge.
