Default Looking at buying an '05, need some advice...

Alrighty a co-worker if mine is looking to sell his '05. It has 800 miles on it (with records of the 600mile service). He just needs the loan payed off so its going for $3K. It not been dropped or anything. Is this a good deal? Also is there anything that i should be carefull of when i buy it?

How many facial piercings does your coworker have?
Has he changed the exhaust? The jetting? Anything?
$3000 is a decent deal.
I got my '02 with only 202 miles on it for only $2900, but that was from a Harley dealership in another state. In January. With several inches of snow on the ground.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Peace!

Sounds like a reasonable deal to me.

That's the problem with military personnel. They all dress alike, so it's harder to tell which ones are the scumbags who abuse their bikes (or wives.)
That sounds like a good deal. Good luck.

Harsh as ever Chris, I like it. 3K is a pretty good deal, you can still get 2500ifyou decide to sell it yourself, so $500 is a good price to pay for a known history.

Yeah: I'd say go for it. The low miles, the fact you aren't taking the sticker price "hit", and it's made it through the break-in period are all +'s in my book. If you know it's been taken care of, it sounds pretty safe.

As far as the dirtbag coment, you cannot be a dirtbag and get into honor guard. But anyway, ill go for it then. Now to just engineer the finances so im not living off of top ramen for a while[&:]

No offence Praetorian. Nothing but respect for the Honor Guard[sm=americanasmiley.gif]But every lot gets a bad apple, not that they go around shooting people, but they just dont respect their machine, or what happens when it is improperly maintained or operated. If your friend respects his machine, then get it while you can, if he doesnt respect his machine, you dont have to end a friendship, just dont buy from him.
Of course anyone desecrating the 500 will incur the wrath of the Calamari[sm=badbadbad.gif]
