Default Idle Issue

Whenever I start up my bike. I have the choke on for a few minutes then I slowly will turn the choke off. Then once it is of the bike rev extremely low. Or the bike will just completely shut off. Also, when I rev the bike it takes a second for the bike to kick in andit doesn't seem like the bike wants to rev that high.I have no idea what it could be is it the carbs? The guy I bought it from said that he replaced them last year. Also I'm going to change the spark plugs out and do an oil change this weekend. Becuase I don't know if it is due to low spark. Any help would be appreciated thanks guy.

Default RE: Idle Issue

Yes, it is probably due to low spark, but there's nothing wrong with your plugs. The problem is in letting the engine idle for a few minutes with the choke on. This rich running is fouling your plugs and eventually flooding your engine.
The choke is used only to keep the engine running long enough for you to get your helmet and gloves on. Not to let the bike warm up. Start the bike with the choke on, put on your helmet, gloves and ride away slowly. The engine warms up better and lasts longer if you ride it immediately after starting it, but keeping the revs below 4,000rpm for the first mile or two.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Peace!
