Hello everybody, I've been lurking for a while, reading up on the 500 as much as I could. Then I saw that Kali was selling his bike... soooo I gave in and bought his bike, in what is historically one of the shadiest looking deals in history (cash transaction on someone's lawn).
It's a great bike and I'm glad that I knew that it was treated well... now I just need to actually get better at riding (got the gear and MSF.)
Looking forward to being a little more active now.

hrmmm shady looking deal....
4 guys drinking beer playing an arcade game while 2 random sport bikes roll up, with an eclipse, come up the garage, all grab a beer, hand over a wad of cash, i get the key and a helmet and jacket, 1 bike and eclipse peaceout.
maybe not too shady sounding, but for my neighborhood it would raise some eyebrows.
i got enough funny looks from the neighbors just for having 4 people drinking playing a 4man arcade game in the door of my garage at noon.

Hey, if you're going to go off road at random, you're going to go off road at random... don't blame the dual sport bikes.
my '85 dodge aries wasn't made for off road use, but it saw it's share! and you're right, people aren't too fond of you doing it to their lawns hehe.
I took my 500 off-roading once. it was pretty fun, until I hear this sound like I've way over-reved the engine and I turn back and see a freakin minivan riding my *** through this field! and they thought I was the oddball for driving a sport bike offroad.
