Default Fix-Ups

After hemming & hawing, pining & longing, I finally decided to plunk down the ~$2200 and get the red gas tank, fairing and panels to turn my Green '06 into an '02 (which is redder than a hooker-in-church) and got the turn-signal switch assembly which has the hazard light feature.

I used to have an '02 and that color has always been the prettiest there is IMO.

I'll keep the green fairing panels, in case I ever have to run from the police and change them at home.

looks great, but i gotta ask... is 2200 dollars cheaper than a paint job?

Though the green does have her beauty too:

Hwy 36, East of Red Bluff--one of my favorite motorcycle roads in the world.

Nope, but a paint job is not going to look as good or last as long, IMO.
It's only money. I have no wife or child-support payments to blow it on, so I might as well get what I want and enjoy life, you know?

Besides I learned a long time ago that you never crash on the side of the bike that you have spare parts for. (i.e. if you have a spare left mirror, you will almost always crash on the right side.) Now that I'll have a whole spare fairing, I'll be exempt from crashing on this bike ever again. (Sure wish I'd had the spare fairing when I chomped Lolita up.)

Ha! Finally got my surfrack installed correctly this weekend too.
Started with a Renntec luggage rack:

Which doesn't impede use of my beloved Tourmaster Cortech Sport Bags:

Then installed a Carver CSR-Moped rack:

And now I don't have to fight all the posers from Saharizona for parking spaces when I go out in the morning:

I tested the whole rig up to 45mph yesterday with no ill effect and the board stays very well fixed. I wouldn't trust it in a cross-wind or on the freeway, but fortunately I'm only about a mile and a half from the beach and if it's too windy for this, it's probably too windy for good surf anyway.

Tally-ho!

That is pretty bad *** CC, now you have the best of both worlds, a green or a red ride for the day. Looks great man.
