When I took the MSF course, they had all the 250's except the ninja 250. The Honda rebel was the next best thing to the ninja, but could not match the power of it. Both the Suzuki, and Yamaha 250's seemed like junk with no power to spare! The worst bike there by far was the Honda nighthawk 250.

The 250's definitely a nice bike to start on. Has enough get up and go to get you out of hairy situations no doubt but training not to get into those hairy situations in the first place, that's key. Take the MSF course as soon as you can or if you have a Harley Davidson near you take the Rider's Edge course which is exactly like MSF 'cept they add on some Harley stuff like visit the store, lookie lookie Harley gear, etc etc.

I like the red on black flames. I have an '06 blue and was looking at the black on black flames on the 06's and thought...man if only they were red flames, heh.

One thing I'll tell you right now, the bike is veeeeery forgiving. Once my hand slipped off throttle for a second, going 60 MPH. Thought I was gonna eat dirt there for a sec but aside from a little nose going down the thing still kept on going. Brakes on a dime and gives you change back too. And wait until you start hittin' those curves... oooh man! Feel's like you're on rails, glued to the bike.

Thats funny. From what I have read about them everyone says the virago is by far the most powerful and the nighthawk is second followed by rebel and then the Suzuki. Mabye the Virago was older and more beat or mabye the rebel is faster. The nighthawk is fug ugly, lol.

Even though I have only 750 miles of riding experience its seems very forgiving for sure. I have took it on some nice S curvs and switchbacks and hell yeah its like its on rails. Although I have not been pushing it much cause Iam inexperienced and know my limits. Yeah for sure not getting into those situations is anyones best bet which is why Iam a very defensive driver, always have been with cars, even more so on my bike. Iam def takin the MSF course next year as soon a registration opens up, I wanted to take it before I got my bike but it was too late in the year. I love the colors but I wasnt sure about he silver wheels, have always liked the black ones, but now its Iam starting to like it better. Blue is a sweet color as is yellow.
