^Lower power on the '08 likely due to the new emission equipment.

I bought my new 2008 Ninja 250R yesterday!!! I'm new member here tonight!!! I'm going to sell my lemon 2002 Buell Blast bye bye.Mynew passion red Ninja feeling lot of better than my Blast.

My boss just bought an '08 Blast.[] What problems did you have with it?

Anyway, glad you bought a shiny new 250R! Looks good.

my 2002 Buell blast's engine mount bolt broken off twice that make shaking dangerous, first broken was two years ago cost me $200 repair & $150 delivery, The second time bolt broken off this week!!! rocker gasket blown, carb boot torned cause too lean & poor idle. The primary become noisy untiljammed, cause Icannot heard any noisy. I'm profound deaf since baby. I'm tired of do primary adjustment every month, so forgot it! I'm really sorry that your boss bought doom Buell Blast. you can see lot of problem on Blasts included my own Blast on www.buelletinboard.com my member was deafiejohn.

Wow. Sounds pretty bad. I'm hoping you will have better luck with your Ninja. I'm not sure why he bought a buell honestly. He had been looking around for a European branded bike for some time. We all thought he would get a Triumph. Oh well.

how does that bike hitch tagalong work for ya? i was thinking of getting one of those

peak numbers are lower because the 08 has different cams that give it more low end torque than the older ones.

I would like to see a dyno between the 2 to show the differences though.
WOuld have to be back to back on the same dyno though.

I have an '08, and had 3 of the 1st gen. models. I suspect a drag race would be pretty much a toss-up. For daily riding, roll-ons, and the like, the '08 has notably more punch in the low-mid. I like it much better (Though it's really a very moderate difference.). Everything else is also in the '08's favor, IMO. I also am looking forward to seeing an actual "wet weight" comparison between the new and old. A lot of the manufacturers are reporting their "dry weights" differently now. I'm not sure there's much difference in the weight, at all. It'll be interesting to see.
