Default NINJA TYME! concerns with 2005?

Hey,
I've been shopping my *** off for a budget ninja for the past several weeks. Just saw a 2005 250r that appears to be in decent condition for $900. Everything else I've been seeing is around 3k, and the savings in insurance would of course be significant.

I'm not a very experienced bike owner. What kind of considerations should I have about acquiring and taking care of a bike that was designed and manufactured over a decade ago?

Thanks for any input!

The general condition of the bike, no oil / coolant / fuel / hydraulic leaks. Tyres in good condition, has the bike been maintained, chain and sprocket condition, forks damaged / rusty / twisted. Take someone with you who is more experienced if you can. Owners attitude can tell you a lot.
Good luck

Word, so just the same basics as any other situation.

I guess it was a good deal cause the ad disappeared fast!

Back to inspecting every used small sportbike on CL!
