the 250 is going to be really light on the insurance (of course that depends on who u are insured though) but if you do decide on a 600 or 636cc bike, from what i hear the kawasaki ZZR is not too bad on the insurance because it is considered a sport touring bike.

Considering the cash I gotta put out, the insurance I'll still have to pay for, and the performance in the city/interstate, would a 500 be okay? They are about 2K less than the 600s, but it's engine has twice the displacement of the 250.And it would still be a good starter, and I would serve all the above well. Correct? Can I get better speed if I really wanted it on the interstate or does it have a problem getting triple digits like the 250?

I can't say I ever had a problem getting my 250R past 100mph.

I think the 500 will be amore livable biketo ride daily for sure. the 250R is great, but not all around great.

If I had the money, a dialed in 250 would get my adrenaline going for sure.

I would think for close to the price, 1980era of the 600 or 750 series. Great learning rides also while still comfy. Can be had for about the same price. Just in case you tend to outgrow a ride.

in my opinoin 250's are complete waste of time. they look ridiculous and are slow. get something with some power and styling. just get a 600 man you wont be dissapointed.

I've taken DG's 250 for a spin and it handled great...even with a flat front tire(she has 2 new tires now)!!! I wasn't blown around at all... ...DG and I went for a quick spin and she took right off and ticked it up to over 100MPH!!! if this is your first bike a 250 will be a perfect bike for you to learn on...you will have a blast...
