Memorial Day Weekend Warning!!
As I was coming home from work just now I almost laid my 08 250R down because of heavy traffic stopped in the road. I was going about 40mph and had been for quite some time following 3 cars and a pair of cruisers up ahead. As I came over a swell in the road, brake lights! I locked em up and steered towards the side of the road to avoid the car in front of me since I couldn't stop. The car ahead of him, also had to find room on the shoulder to avoid the car in front of him! I was very lucky that the bike stayed up and I was able to ride it over to some soft grass. No one crashed and I don't know what the deal was but I just wanted to share my just turned 500 mile riding experience with you guys and warn you about stupid drivers and giving plenty of room with the heavy traffic this long weekend. BE SAFE EVERYONE!! I'm stickingwith the car the next few days!
Thanks for the heads up. I think many riders have a better sense for what's around them than those who drive behind a cage. You'll come across many occasions where you must be proactive in order to avoid an accident.
When i was still in the Seatle area stuff like this was a daily occurance. Im quite adept at riding skids now, the biggest thing is not panic and oddly enough once your in a skid just sticking with it...
