Hi everyone! I just got a new (first) bike... ofcourse a ninja 250 or i wouldnt be posting in this section...

anyway how do you guys lock your bikes? do I need to buy some sort of chain to put around the wheels? I dont live in a really urban area, if that matters

 

I have a kryptonite bramd chain for when Im nowhere near it. I live near Wash DC, so there is a high bike theft around here. Also, just turn the bars all the way to the side and turn the key all the way to the left. should lock steering.

 

I just lock the steering when I am at work. No one is really going to bother it around where I am at.

keep it in the house and dont take it anywhere you cant see it. usually a disk lock or some sort of chain along with it works good. a paging alarm like the scorpio. a 45 acp and a camera on it at all times.

 

i dont lock mine yet, but, I was looking at those rotor locks with built in alarms on them on ebay. Does anyone know if those are of any descent quality?

 

just remebor to revome any locks/chains befor you take off and if they want it they will take it. i just lock the bars
