I have a little black tube that is near on the bottom of my '04 its a black tube and is open at the end..... is this normal??/ Dont have a pic yet, but i can get one if necessary...

My bf says its for "draining" but he doesnt know much about motorcycles.... lol

 

It is most likely the overflow from the gas tank. When you fill the tank and spill a little around the edge it drains down this tube and out under the bike away from the exhaust.

In this case, your bf is correct.

It is a drain, or "vent" tube for the battery I believe. You can trim it up a little if you don't like the look of it hanging down like they do. Just don't cut it off above the fairings.

Hey girlie!! I totally wondered the exact same thing when I got my ninja last month. It was so ugly looking. So I trimmed it. Now he looks perfect. I got the same bike and even same color as yours. Good choice! *thumbs up*
