Just a 250? Tired of it!!
Those who mock the 250 for its size dont understand why the bike exists in the first place.
Many seasoned riders with much much larger bikes, CBR's, Busa's, 999's typically also keep a 250 in their garage for when they go on the twisties, or just for fun. A 250 is a great, cheap, fun bike.

I say "Ride your own ride". The 250 has no problem keeping up with traffic. I don't race it on the track or the street. I bought it to ride the twisties and for that purpose it's 100% perfect. Don't let other people dictate your ride. "Let's race!" "Are you going to pay the ticket if I get caught by the cops? Didn't think so."
I'm totally tired of the 250s getting railed on, and I don't even have one yet (working on rectifying that right now). Everytime I tell someone what sort of bike I'm seeking, there's a little bit of condescension. I have one biker friend that keeps sending me links to Craigslist for bikes that I feel are too heavy for me to start out with (not to mention way too expensive). Isn't it viewed as the universal, perfect starter bike for a reason? All I care about is having the bike I want, and being able to ride. It's nice to see other people feel the same way too.

[align=left]PS: I do agree that the lines about having a 250 because you're a chick and can't handle more is total crap. I've met plenty of women who can manuever heavier, 'stronger' bikes.
It's a matter of preference, and I like what the 250 has to offer.

Right on Leena. [sm=smiley20.gif]
There's nothing wrong with a 250. As women riders are concerned, check out Jessica Maine: http://www.myspace.com/roadrashchic
BTW, welcome to the forums Leena.
