Default Hey all

Hello everyone.. I am 16, almost 17, and was wanting to get my motorcycle licence. I was looking at bikes and saw the kawasaki 250. I saw it in the older style. It was the only 250 sport bike, so i liked it. Well i saw the new one and fell in love, for it being a 250. I was wondering if the new ones are a good beginner bike. I am not new to bikes, only to them on the road. I was also wondering what i would be looking at for insurance, i know it will be high. Well if you can help out Great!

Thnks

I don't see why the 08 250 r should not be considered for your first street ride. It is a nice looking ride, it is brand new with little known about it just yet.

Not been on the new 250 but I would bet its a great beginner bike like the old one is. Take the MSF class to start with. Insurance on my 07 was 136 a year but Im older than you by many years. If you want a sport bike I think the new 250 is the best choice. Good enough power to be fun but not so much thats its hard to controll. Just dont be the normal 17 year old who is feerless and tries to stunt to impress his friends. Ride smart and be safe.

Can't blame ya there. Time to plan ahead even more, gear up. The initial costs may kick ya, but do it while you are thinking about riding.

Have you looked at the "other" 250? You know the cool one? Come on don't tell me that you can resist buying a bike that you can ride all year, in all conditions, highway, gravel, trail, river crossing to mud, to work. I mean come on man you know you at least have thought about it.[8D] However if you decide to get the lesser 250 we won't hold it against you.........for too long.

Lol yea i have thought about dual purpose bikes. Our dealer has a nice one i have looked at. I have a yamaha ttr125 dirtbike that i love. But i habve wanted to get into the street bike seen for a while. And like i saoud the only problem is insurance. I can afford the bike and helmet and all that, its just the yearly thing that gets me lol

Wow that sucks. I pay $80.00 a year total for both bikes for 300,000 liability. But then again insurance is not even required here in Washington State. Good luck buddy.
