HELP!!! I THINK I BLOW A FUSE
Ok, I went home last weekend and saw a few guys taking their sport bike out and I try to take mine out too.
I stored the battery inside my house since October without charging it and it wouldn't start my bike after
hooking it up. I know I must be stupid enough to use the car battery to jump my bike battery. Anyways,
there was a spark the first time and I take it off immediately. I should stop and THINK but I insist and tried
the second time. This time, my sister's boyfriend helped me hook it up to the car and let it for about five
seconds. Smokes start to come from the battery and I told him to take it off quick. The jumper wire was
HOT.
I then use my brain and call Advance Auto to check if they charge battery and they said they do. I took the
battery to them to recharged and reinstalled once it's finished. Still nothing lighted up. I got worried. That
day, on my way back to my work home, I called one of my friend who is a mechanic that also owns a
Hardley Davidson bike. He said I probably blow a fuse. I felt a little relief but am wondering if any of you
guys had the same problem.
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: HELP!!! I THINK I BLOW A FUSE
I too have used a car to jump my bike with no problems. Sounds like you may have crossed the jumper by mistake. Follow the red or hot wire off your battery to find the main fuse and check it. Also, check the smaller fuses and make sure they are okay.
Let us know what you find.

RE: HELP!!! I THINK I BLOW A FUSE
Well I haven't gone home yet so I will check it this weekend and hopefully it's only the fuse that
is blown. As for the battery jump, the car was OFF before I jumped the motorcycle battery. I am
not sure if I should ground end of the car's battery to a metal on the car but I connect positive
to positive and negative to negative of both batteries.
