Gas tank
i was replaceing the carbs on my 2000 250R ninja today and i was putting the gas tank back on and i cant figure out how. does anyone no if thier is a certain way to do it. It is prob very simple im just a complete R tard and is making it harder then it is.
yea we had the tank in place on those but it still needs to come down about another 6 inches it doesnt even seem like the tank goes on the bike. Ok if we have it on the dampers the back of the tank needs to come down alot but if we place it on back of it corectly the front needs to come down alot
the bottom of the tank doesnt fit with the frame of the bike i dont no what the bottom of the tank is supposed to look like but if you could post a pic of one that would be great ive looked for quite awhile and cant find one
Line the tank up so that it's at an angle - front down - and push it forwards on to the rubber bushes at each side of the head stem. The front of the tank can now only be withdrawn backwards - there's no up or down movement. The back of the tank should now lower into place with no more than a slight push.
If something's stopping the back from moving into place you've done something else wrong - probably the air box.

exactly Rob, was my feeble reasoning as well. But your explaination was better.
well we were looking at it and we think the tank decompressuerized i didnt spell that right and it blew out the bottom cuase it doesnt look right so we got a hammer and beat the **** out of it for awhile and now every thing runs great.
