Dang, what's the A/R on those things?

 

Not even sure. These turbos are just factory replacements for 12-14 liter truck engines. I have a friend who is an engineer for Cummins marine engines of the 60 liter variety! Couldn't even imagine how big a turbo on one of those would be.[&:]

 

Only 40lbs? What do sell parts for Internationals? A real engine (IE CAT) has a 60lbs turbo on it!

 

We do CAT also. 40 lbs was just a guess....

 

56 lbs for a Detroit 60 series. Just weighed it.

 

I would say the guy that turboed the 250 with only 120.9mph to show for it, just installed the turbo and hasn't worked on the gearing at that time... The 250 with stock gearing would have to tach 13000 constantly to do much over 120mph... I am at 9000 at 70mph...

 

Well if you take into account that Kawi speedos are about 10% slow i have had my stock 250R up to 126.5 (speedo said 115). That was reving it at 13000rpm, so that is about the fastest one of these will go without working on the gearing.

I think Dillon was mistaken. We're talking about the weight of the turbo, not the psi. That 40lb turbo probably puts out 50-60psi...
