transmission problem

Default transmission problem

my 1995 concours has been garaged for 2 years i rode it in park it .my problem is when i decided to ride again i service it changed all fluids new batt. new gas started it went to first gear let out clutch rode around the block parked in drive way prepairing to take off went to 1st let out clutch didnt move at all what happen. i neglected to say it only has 14533 miles on it being a trucker i dont ride much i had it towed to a shop he told me it was the tranny and he couldn t fix it i dont understand how this could happen but i dont want to have towed somewhere else untill i understand what i may be facing in approx. cost if it is the tranny or could it be something else

Is the tran locked up? Is the clutch slipping? Some unknowns here. But welcome to KF.

the clutch does not appear to be slipping trans not locked will move very slow in 1st gear only goes into 1st

I am curious to know the solution. How is your shift lever and cables? ie, lever not tight, cable need adjusting, that kind of thing.
