Skid Plate Aluminum Type 2004 KFX700 PN 999940012A
Hey guys,
I'm a newbie here with a recently purchased 2004 KFX 700. It was a one owner and along with purchase I received the title, and all the other documents given when the original owner purchased it new.
It's got a few small issues, but only one that would prevent me from riding confidently.
The rear skid plate is broken. Two of the mounting tabs have been pulled off. I have access to a Tig machine for repairs. But I'm not sure the type of aluminum this skid plate is made from.
The skid plate is part number 999940012 and was purchased new in 2004 with the ATV.
I've been scouring the internet and Have found the same skid plate with a matching part number, and or similar part number. However I haven't been able to locate any sites or ebay auctions that show the type of aluminum this is.
I just want to make sure I'm using the right tig wire to ensure a nice strong weld. So that I'm not doin this again.
I also tried searching here for the information, and couldn't find it. Any help is appreciated. Apologies if this i not posted in the correct category.
