A Quick Konichiwa, G'day, or Hello
Ok,
Been a lurker here for about a month or two now. Picked up a 2004 KLX 250 here in Japan. It is funny looking at the boards at all the people who want black plastics... mine came stock with black fork guards, light cowl, and I am trying to find white. Oh the irony.
Anyway, 2004 Japanese model so it has e start, no kickstarter, seems to have CA jetting since the needle is not adjustable. Carb mods are in the future. First on the list though is finding a 300cc cylinder so I can do the 351 kit on it. Here in Japan the 250cc models do not require the expensive inspection. So having a bike registered as a 250cc is a good thing if you catch my drift.
I have new fork springs on the way since the front is hideously soft. Also new gearing is in store due to the extreemly high gearing (it was stock with 14/42) Already went to a 13t countershaft but it is still geared way too high. So have a 48 on it's way for the rear.
What else? I guess just don't be shy.

You are correct, I can use the 250 cylinder as I found out. Thank you. However... I am still looking for a donor cylinder so that I don't have to have my bike down for a month or so. What with mailing the parts back and forth, the work being done, it will take at least that. Figure about two weeks one way on mail ( I recently had a package take over a month to get here from the States, I reckon it went by way of every other place around). So I guess I should have been more clear, I am looking for a donor cylinder... either 250 or 300 so that I can keep riding till I get the parts.
