Default Projects

Hi, new to the site. Been riding a while, dirt and street. Gonna get right into it if you don't mind! I'll be building a 91' ZX7R with a 1997 ZX9R powertrain. It was actually traded in this way, we took the block out and put it into a ZX9 we had, and sold it. So now we have a ZX7 plumbed for a 9R block, sitting there all lonely. The frame is rblt. status as well, so the bike isn't worth much even when complete, so I figured, why not build something crazier. Anyone ever put a late model injected litrebike powerplant in an old frame? Obviously all the associated electronics have to be retrofitted as well, but have any of you done it or something close to it? Guess I'm lookin' for some peer pressure.

Welcome Dallas, do it and take some pics along the way. Is that enough peer pressure?

Sounds like a real Frankenstein project. Good luck with it and take lots of pictures... and welcome to the KF family.

Ok, you guys are helping alot. Looking for a donor block! If I can't find a reasonably priced one or it's just too much work, I'll still build the 7 with the 9block and keep you all in the loop. Cheers and thanks for making me feel welcome, D
