Parts for 96 KLX 650C - petcock needed!
Having a heck of a time finding parts for my 1996 KLX 650C. At this time need a frame mount petcock. It is leaking from the inlet tube. It appears to have been press fitted but over time has become loose allowing fuel to seep out. Does anyone have a source for parts for this bike or know how to repair this?

The KLX250S uses a similar remote bolt on petcock. It doesn't list as the same part, but it looks the same. I have both a KLX650C and KLX250S, so I have looked. It might be that the fuel ports are placed different or that there was some minor change making for the part number difference.
For what it's worth, check out the ADVrider forum, thumpers, KLX650 riders UNITE! thread for more help with the 650. Then there is the Yahoo KLX650 group which is a good resource for information. It is more difficult to use, but has a great search function and the guys know their stuff..
