Online Demise
I realize motorcycle dealers are in business to make a profit....but a particular Michigan dealer...and maybe many....are making dishonest online deals by preying on young riders and adding many rediculous fees, which the young adults don't realize.
Young riders...please be wary of dealers offering new equipment for $99 a month and claiming they will deliver to the ends of the earth. You will certainly pay a pretty penny for it in the end. My son's deal was so rediculous that it has taken away any desire for me to ever want to own any Kawasaki equipment ever. I have informed many people of these dishonest ways. I contacted the Kawasaki Company about it to report the dealer....and was told that it was their prerogative to get whatever they can get for a particular product. Wow. What a way of doing business. I realize it was my son's fault for being foolish enough to purchase online.....but he was definately taken advantage of.

I do agree that it is a dealer issue....and not necessarily a Kawasaki issue. It was just upsetting that an individual from Kawasaki replied that a dealer is free to get whatever he can get. You would think they would want to have a few universal morals but maybe the companies don't have that much control over the dealers.
It is just unfortunate that people in business will take advantage of any situation available to make a buck. Of course, I advised my son NOT to complete an online transaction of that size, especially without trying out the goods first...but he didn't listen. Young folks do some foolish things at times....but we were all young once.

Sorry to hear about the deal gone bad, Con. This site is a good place to get advice BEFORE inking deals (dealer or otherwise.) There are some people in this business who are in it for the wrong reasons, obviously. I think many of us here have met our share. Let us know if we can help, and encourage your son to sign up on the forums.
Welcome aboard. Gear up; stay safe.
