I bought the same bike about a year ago (81 KZ 750 LTD)
Sank alot of money into it over the past year so I bought a '99 H-D Sportster for longer trips (newer,more dependable, a bit more comfortable for long trips at higher speeds)
Love them both!!
The Sportster is great on the highway but you can't beat the KZ 750 around town
Lots of "get up and go" and it's nice and quiet
The H-D is "belt drive" but I'll tell you -- the KZ runs through the gear shifts smooth as silk
and the 6 gears are great!!
Hope you don't have to sink alot of dough into it but even so -- you have a great bike!!
