Default Newbie Here from Tampa, Fl

Just got out of the Army May 21. Back home in Tampa, Fl now. I've had my bike license for 3 years just never got a bike since I kept deploying overseas.

Now that Im home for good I went out today and bought a 2001 Ninja ZX-6R for my first bike to get used to everything. Im already 100% addicted.

Hopefully i can find everything on this forum as far as doing my own maintnance, moddingetc.

Are there any other good websites anyone recommends for info on this bike.

Hopefully i get to meet up withsome of you locals.

Thanks in advance!!!!

As far as I know everything with the bike seems fine. It has a few scratches on it but nothing major. It only has 7k miles on it. Runs nice. Nothing noticable. However I still wanna redo all the fluids. Would it be fine for me to switch to full synthetics?

Yeah full synths would be fine. I just heard somewhere that once you switch you have to stay synth unless you do a full cleanout.

have fun riding & glad you're back from overseas!

Going full synthetic has many pros, and only one con: Expensive!!!

Switching back, or even mixing non-synthetics won't hurt the bike any. The theory of not being able to switch to regular oils after using synthetic is an unfounded old-school idea people used to say. Just stay away from energy conserving automotive oils and you'll be fine.

Welcome home bro. Well I am on the other side of the bay. You will notice a diff when you go with full synthetic. Easier shifting quiter ride and may run a degree cooler also. Well if you head this way on Wednesday for bike night at the Lube we might run into each other.
