New Member in Southern Illinois

Hey everyone! I have just completed my MSF course and purchased my first motorcycle. I bought a 2009 KLX250s in the red colorway. I currently live in Southern Illinois and I bought the bike to learn on, commute to and from college and work, and also to hit the trails on the weekends. Having no riding experience, I am looking forward to meeting a lot of new people as well as learning more about my bike.

Great first bike choice. I've been riding for near 50 years and have one! Seriously, this bike will serve you well, perfect for the job you have for it. My advice is add some hand guards, change all fluids and filters and JUST RIDE IT! I know it's tempting to add farkle after farkle, but as a college student I suspect you have better things to spend your money on. Fact is, this bike will deliver all that you ask of it, especially being a new rider. Keep it dependable, don't mess with the engine, it works fine as stock with little to no maintenance.
