New here, and somewhat new to Kawasaki. About 3 weeks ago I was able to find a KLX300R at my dealer. Last year I had looked forever for one but no one had anything. It was between that, and a CRF250F. I gave up on finding anything then for another year. I had originally walked into my dealer to lok at anewZX-6R but they had both e KLX and the CRF. After giving it some thought for a couple of days I decided to go with the KLX. Im a little bigger at 210 lbs, so the KLX should fit me a bit better than the CRF. Fast forward to a week ago and I started to pull my bikes out of their winter storage. My old '98 CBR F3 decided it no longer wanted to run, so back to the dealership I went! Came home with the ZX-6R I had originally looked at. It was between that and a new CBR600RR but had ditched the RR due to a few reasons.
Only prior experience with Kawasaki was the wife bought a new 2018 Ninja 400 in 2018. She learned to ride on it, and I honestly had a blast on it as well. I've got lots of other bikes, but I had a lot of fun on the 400 as it was really hard to get into trouble on it. She ended up selling it off in 2020 after dropping it in grass and deciding to no longer ride.
I look forward to enjoying the bikes and learning as much as I can from here.

The two sub-forums you want to hit here are the KLX300 forum, which was originally for the old enduro/play bike 300, but seems to be growing with the new S and R, plus the KLX250S forum. There are a lot of things that transfer between the 300s and the 250s so there is a lot of good information in there about suspension, racks, skid plates, and about everything else. Only bolt on that I saw that didn't fit from the 300s to the 250s was the radiator guards. So hopefully there are things here to help you enjoy the ownership of the 300.
