Welcome to KF
The 10r is ok for a track bike. The basics still apply for suspension first and foremost over power mods.
A 10r for your first track bike? It will be a better plan of attack to cough up a cheaper bike to setup and use on the track. Learn the ropes and enjoy as you learn. Falling down is not cheap for most bikes out there. And, it will happen. I love my second gen 10r as well, so do not get me wrong.

I am taking easy on it. Little by little. Not enough funds for a second bike, but will attempt to put some money in to this one. Racing plastics is a must and hope to find some by the end of the year.
