if you are new to the street please dont respond i need to know from past owners of this bike.
anyway
this weekend i might get a 2003 zx9r with 4900 miles on it. the guy wants 7k. in the pictures it looks pretty mint but we all pictures can fool anyone. i have a couple questions. the bike has carbs which kind of scares me. how good/bad are they on this bike?? and would you say, as long as the bike is in good shape is 7k a fair price??

$7k is too much for the 9 in my opinion. Mint condition or not for an 03.

 

I love my 9 and the carbs are fine. i havnt tried going high altitude yet i know i took my vfr up mt washinton and my carbarated buddies had problems where i didnt with fi. but so far i havnt had any issues with the carbs mine is a 2000zx9r 7000 sounds a little steep whats the book value ive bought most of my bikes when they had about 5000mi on em and they have always performed as new look for all the signs of abuse then talk em down in price . its a comfy rocket ofa bike that is stable and a blast to ride if not a bit on the heavy side

Well I don't know anything about the bike but I wanted to respond to say welcome to the site. After all this is the new member section, your question could have been in another section. I mean you don't want to miss out on all the welcomes from the members here.

 

7K too much 9er, I would offer 5K. Welcome to KF and the addiction that comes with it. Good luck on finding the right bike.
