Klx250
Hey! I just bought a 2018klx250 (camo) and brought it from Nevada to California, the guy I bought it from only had it ohv registered, I shouldn’t have any issues with the dmv going to register it for road use right? And to get a California plate for it? (doesn’t even have a Nevada one)
Since it is a street legal motor vehicle if the laws in Nevada says it has to be titled there is a title somewhere and you better find it, that is proof of ownership. In Ohio, now, they even title off road vehicles, like MX bikes - proof of ownership. Just because it is titled does not mean it has to have a plate registered to it.
Find out where the title or MSO is and get it in your name.

Yeah it has an ohv Nevada title which he signed over to me so I have that, bill of sale, and much of the original paperwork from the dealer. My main worry was I couldn’t find an actual sticker anywhere on the bike that said it passes ca emissions qualifications. (Which is what I hear they look for when inspecting the bike at the dmv, But then again one of my friends has the same bikes and I couldn’t find the sticker on his but I’m not quite sure I have very little experience and bought this as my first bike.
Last year I bought an ATV that was not CARB compliant and not available for sale in California. So I went to Reno and bought it there. Since it is a ranch ATV and won't be taken off my property I wasn't worried about needing to register it. Normally the dealer submits the DMV registration on your behalf, which includes submitting the COR to the DMV. Since I didn't register I was given the COR. If in the future it becomes CARB compliant and I so desired I could take the COR to the DMV and register it.
Since it has a Nevada OHV that COR might have been submitted for that registration. I think your best bet is to contact the DMV and see if they will register it based on the previous NV registration.
