Hi nostalgia made me purchase a old style dirt bike and came across this 1994 klx 250r , would really like to update the plastics as to save the original ones as they are in fair condition and it seems like i bought a bike with parts that are like rocking horse **** to get hold of , i can get all the original genuine plastics except for headlight cover and front mudguard or so it says on english cradley kawasaki parts , but would loke to know if there are any compatinle plastics for it from other bikes etc dont mind a change of colour , but would be nice to keep it green , as it is a 94 model has anyone put on new model plastics as i have read they do on honda crf etc any help would be much appreciared

 

I don't know if they will fit, but it may be possible that the radiator shrouds from any KLX300 up to 2008 may be fitted up, but I think they are exactly the same. The KLX250 shrouds in 2006 look a bit different, but there is an extra fastener on them due to the new design. You need to see if you can find someone in your area with one of the later model. Either way, not a big change,

I'd recommend you find or make up some new graphics. There might be some available online or if you can do the graphics, a sign maker that makes car wraps can print them for you. If you can get some plastics used you could try cutting them up a bit for shaping. You could do something like some of the new bikes are doing, make a full cover graphic then cut out the openings, creating voids in the graphic. I've noticed a number of them doing that kind of graphic. Like a big KAWASAKI applied on the panel, then cutting the openings and wrapping the graphic around those edges trimming excess off the back side once wrapped. The material will stretch and stick.
