KLR Running out of fuel on hills
My first time on KF.
Hello, my name is Alex and I have a 1996 KLR 250. Recently, I began to use my bike to commute to work and have had it stall on steep (approx. 20 degree) hills.
When I stop on the side of the road and "pump" the throttle and kick start it about 10 times, it slowly comes back to life—until I travel on another steep hill.
Has anyone had this experience and would you suggest what I should do to repair my bike?
Many thanks!

Welcome to KF
I do not have a KLR, but I would check the float for damage (crack or pin holes) and see if it is adjusted correctly. Also, is the ride stalling going up or down the 20 degree hills?

Thanks, Dragone:
It stalls as I am going up the hill. Yesterday, I found that when it dies (and it happens suddenly) I pull over to the curb and hold the throttle open as I kick start and it fires right up.
I'll check the carb and fuel lines to see it there is obstruction.
Thanks, again!
