JUST GOT PERMIT
New to this whole thing..looking to bye a bike. Someone has a 500 vulcan yr.2001. can anyone give me any advice on picking this bike, as I don't want to spend too much on a new bike. It hasn't been on the road for some time, owner rides with her husband on his harley. thanks for the input
Welcome to Kf, and congrats on getting your license. I dont really know about cruisers though so I'm not gonna be much help, but I'm sure the guys hangin out in that section can. Sure you don't want a sportbike?
welcome and congrat with all that. I've ridden an Vulcan 750 before and I have to say it's a real smooth and comfy ride. The only thing that's a little tough to get used to is that your feet are forward on the pegs toward the front. But it's a nice ride.
Welcome to the forums, I can still remember the first time I got my permit, it was a warm summer day in July of 1981, I was a Jr in high school. got my licence a month later on a Honda CB 450, which at the time meant that I could not ride anything over a 500cc. But years later I went in to renew my license and they had done away with the different"cc" classes, so now you can take it on a 150cc moped and go out and ride a 1700 CC bike. Not sure how safe that is, that's why I'll say take the MSF class if you get a chance. Well anyway then fast forward to 1999 I decided not to keep the endorsement since I had sold the Yamaha 750 and dropped it off my license, fast forward again to December of 2005 I had to start all over with the permit and then the license. What a hassle.NOTICE: To all riders, don't be a knucklehead like me and let your license go even if yousell your bike and don't think you're going to need it again. As soon as I saw the KLX on line I knew it was over. I called the dealer, and ordered the first one that wouldn't show up for another month and a half. I picked it up November 23 of 05 and just hit the 6000 mile mark. I can't remember my anniversary half the time, but I will never forget the date I picked up the bike.
