Default Hi from Forest Lake, MN

I just picked up an '06 KLX250 and found this forum from the advice of an ADVrider member.

You all have compiled some great info here and I hope to be able to contribute once I get a chance to dig into this new beauty. This is my 5th motorcycle and my second Kawi but it's my first really dirt oriented ride. I currently ride a V-Strom 650 and an XL600R which are both a bit piggish for real single track and deep sand work.

I'm excited to try this bike out on some of the more technical stuff in my area. I'm a Master Electrician so if you have questions in that area I'm glad to help, although explaining code over the interweb is sometimes a little cumbersome.

See ya on the trails,
Travis

So far one of my favorite things about this bike is the passenger pegs - WTF you might be thinking. Well my 6 yr old can reach them and that's what it takes to legally carry a passenger in my state.

Last night he was complaining about being bored. I told him to throw his gear on and we took a nice ride almost exclusively on dirt roads. He had a blast I stopped by a park so he could swing and play for a bit then it was back home. That little half hour ride already made my $2600 purchase worth while!

On Tuesday if the weather holds out the whole family will be going out, wife and youngest on the Polaris Ranger, me and the oldest on the KLX. It should be a blast!
