hi all, my name is scott and I live in north central massachusetts. I found this forum last week, but somehow I missed this section, so just trying to do the polite thing and say hello. I just bought a new 09 klx 250s. my first dirt bike...ok, dual sport in about 20 years. I have never been without a street bike since I was 16 and I am now 42 so you do the math! I am however very anxious to get some trail riding in. Now if I can only get this thing to make some power...lol I guess I went a little small, but I was too damn short on any of the 400 class bikes I sat on. I put ten miles on the bike riding it home from the dealer and decided to park it till I get it jetted and breathing right....new system and jet kit should be here tomorrow or friday. with a little luck, that will do for now, but I have a feeling I will be ordering a 351cc kit for it next week..oh well, ya can't take it with ya right?.. have fun and maybe we will catch ya on the trails.

 

Welcome to the forums Scott, you sound just like me, it was 20 years since a bike like this, and I was 42 when I bought mine. Glad to have another old dude that loves his KLX. We are a rare breed. Have fun and remember if you break something after 40, it just stays broke. Oh and don't be too disappointed with the power. A few mods will wake up the beast. Jetting, pipe, and some well chosen sprockets (13-45 is the best in my opinion) will make a huge difference. Have fun.
