wow..

welcome to KF bro!

glad you're back in the saddle after all that!! its an amazing story.

well, with a rich riding history, i could say that you should safely be able to handle a ZZR with no problem.. i'm also considering the boredom factor as well tho.. i would probably yawn after a few trips on a 250.. not knocking their owners tho!!! i go plenty of people i ride with on smaller bikes...

i guess if riding position and seat height are a concern, the 250 may be a better option, theres scores of go-fast parts out there for them...

right on!! yeah. the ZZR was to be considered the sport tourer package, so the ergonomics were modded to accomodate a less harsh ride..

good all around bike! nimble, balanced, smooth, capable... eaily modded for performance being that the bike is a R model platform... many parts go to this machine..

good times..

Welcome to the KF family. Your story is inspiring. Now, to the topic at hand. The 250 is a great choice for a beginner or for a seasoned rider that wants something for around the city. If you want to go any kind of distance, I'd go with the ZZR. It's the most comfortable sportbike I think I've ever sat on, yet you can still tuck in. I haven't actually ridden mine yet. It's going to be a couple of days before I can pick it up, but I'll have a full ride report for you when I do. I'm not knocking the 250R, I think it's a great bike, and I might buy one when I get back from Iraq... I just think the ZZR is a much more practical bike that you don't have to coax the power out of. Just my 2 cents... I hope it helps you in your difficult decision.

Oh yeah, and insurance isn't bad at all, because it's classified as a touring bike.

don't forget the 650 also - it has a more upright seating position than the zzr
