50 years away from motor cycles
Yes! it's been 50 years since i've been on a motor cycle. First one was a whizzer, I now have a used 19971500 classic with only 1000 miles on it.
It's acting a little cranky due to being stored in a barn for the past 10 years. bales of hay piled on top of it for protection.
I've got it cleaned up so it looks like a motor cycle, not a place for chickens to roost. It runs but not great. I'll have a bunch of stupid questions over time as i get to know the bike better.
The plan is to get the old girl into shape and then, when the weather is nice next summer, my son and i are going to just head out in some direction or other.
Anyhow, Name is Ken and will be 70 soon - 2nd childhood maybe. Greetings to all.

more - 50 years away from motor cycles
My wife thought i was going off the edge when i came home with this crusty looking motor cycle. After i had cleaned it up a little and got it started, she came out to my shed to see. She actualy smiled.
About an hour later, she came out again and asked if i'd take her for a ride on it.. Later still she asked me to take her to the local resturant for an early dinner. I did, she squeeled a lot but had a big smile.
Today, she got in her little tennis shoe car and went shopping.. when she came back, she was sporting leather pants and jacket, a pair of boots and gloves. A brand new shinny dot certified helmet. She told me that she was now a biker chick. Anyone ever heard of a 70 year old biker chick?
