'09 KLX 250s
Hello All,
I bought a new KLX 250s in mid July, I have been reading the forums here for a few weeks and thought I'd finally pop in and introduce myself.
I live in Salt Lake City, UT.
I rode 3-wheelers as a kid but always wanted a motorcycle, so after a riders ed. course and not being able to find what I wanted used I went and picked up a the KLX.
I broke it in using the "drive like crazy" method and promised myself I wouldn't mod it until I have at least 1000 miles on it.
Taking some advice from this forum (thank you!) I installed a 13t sprocket and a Utah skid plate at 250 miles. What promise?
The 13t is perfect, helps me climb hills in the mountains and doesn't hurt the top speed too badly.
As for the skid plate, it paid for itself about 5 times over the day after I installed it. It's got a few gashes out of it now but my engine is unscathed.
Next up is a jet change and some hand guards, right after I find some money lying around.
Thanks to everyone who posts on this site, it has helped me immensely already and I haven't even had to ask a question.
