Default 05 kx250f questions

Just bought an 05 kx250f and have a question on how to check the oil levels. I believe the crank should be warm and then oil should be visible in the window. On the engine side, I'm not sure. There are two screw in plugs (one small, one large) and I have no oil when removed. Do I lean the bike a bit, or should there be visible oil with the large plug removed? thanks.

Take both oil plugs out to drain. The 8mm plug will only have a small amount of oil to drain. The 14mm is your crank case. I think it takes 1.43 gts with filter removed. Just take your time filling it back up. Kick it over a few times slowly to get the oil flowing. Fill it up to half the site glass. Warm it back up to get a good reading....and go-go-go!
