Question How to Install light bar on klx 300r and where to wire it too?

Hey guys my KLX 300 has no headlight or rear brake light. Im thinking about installing a small light bar on front of it where a headlight would be. My only concern is where would i wire the light bar to? Usually i would think to a battery but the klx dont come with batterys but they do have head lights. So would i wire it to the stator or magneto? Will that have enough power to light up a small LED light bar? Need help!

I had the KLX250 which has the battery so I can't help you with the wiring of the KLX300. If you don't do any good may I suggest an alternative? Especially if you only use it occasionally a small battery attached somewhere to the bike would power a LED light bar for a few hours then you can charge it overnight. Also you can get brake lights that work off an accelerometer instead of a switch. Technological Advances in Brake Light Modulators
Good luck

Hey, I have a 2020 KLX 300r that I just put a light on. There are already wires run from the main harness that are just hanging out behind the number plate (Power and ground). Just follow your harness and you should see them taped up in there (white and black with bullet connectors). I wired those to a switch I bought and it works like a charm.

You can install a small battery. I wired my headlight, tail/brake light and horn to my battery with a fuse and an on/off switch.
What I noticed on my daughter's CRF250X, running off the stator, the horn had NO power.... and the headlight flickers.
With wiring to a battery, everything is solid and no flickering. We added a combo horn/headlight switch, now she has high and low beam, not just low.

Default Front light

I seen your comment I got the 2021 KLX300R and I'm trying to put a front light and I found the black and white wires with the butt connector which one is the ground and which one can I hook the switch up to? Never did any wiring before and what kind of switch did you use? Thanks

What headlight did you use? I bought a headight but it wont fit do to lack of clearance behind the number plate. Looks like I need a very flat LED type light but can't find any advertisements that show the back side of the headlight.
