kawasaki 140G carb issues
2017 that is hard starting when cold. I located the D-screw (takes Motion Pro special bit to adjust carb) and made some adjustments to 1-1/2 turns out. Works better for a few weeks, but yesterday still hard to start in the morning at 50degrees outside. Freaking Kawi carb. What gives? Anyone have one of these bikes and have solved the mystery of getting the carb properly adjusted. Dealer is no help at all.
How many hours/miles on the bike? I don't know your bike specifically, but first valve check usually comes several thousand miles. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, but checking valves isn't too difficult (basically remove valve cover, find top dead center, get out the right feeler gauges and check them).
How long is the bike setting between runs? Are you draining old fuel out of the carb prior to starting and/or running carb low when putting the bike away? Today's ethanol fuel tends to degrade very quickly, especially the small amount left in a carb.

Bike had the required 600 mile maintenance done at dealer($175) and mechanic states "inspected valve lash". Not sure how many hours are on the bike but my wife and I ride frequently. Bike has always been cold-starting from day one. Mechanic also says he adjusted carburetor at time of service. I think I need to have the valves checked again just to make sure. Thanks for the advice on the valves.
