my mistake. seems I always get those mixed up. thanks for the correction, seriously. either way, the airbox needs to have more air flowing through it. can anything else be said?[&o]
Yes! More air, more fuel, more torque, more hp, more power, arrrgg! aaarrrrrggg ! aaaaarrrrrrgggggg!

Yes, opening up the air box will cause a leaner condition. He has greatly opened up the exhaust with the FSW header and FMF exhaust. In order to reapthe benefits he needs to open up the air box and jet accordingly. This will gain the maximum potential out of the KLX whether or not it's the CVK or pumper carb.

First, get all the air in and out that you can, then jet for that. I would consider twiddling with the airbox, i.e., opening it up or closing it down as a way of telling whether you are rich or lean based on how the bike runs after you make such a change. But ultimately you want max air in which allows you to burn more fuel which makes more power which makes more fun.

In addition to the pilot circuit suggestion, I'd also suggest looking at Y's Guy's table that he put together which lists many different known good jetting, airbox, pipe, and elevation combinations. Find the one or several that match yours and at least use that as a starting point. I don't have a link to his fine spreadsheet, but I'm sure a search will turn it up.
