Default YIPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EE!!!!!!!!!

Well its one of those Friday work days where the late fall sunshine and blue sky just makes you feel like it can't get any better, but alas, I called the bike shop and talked to the parts guy and he said that not only did my new camshaft come in, but the mechanic was just bolting the thing up as we spoke. He said that the part on the end that relieves the compression is way tighter and they are sure that was the problem. So I will be heading in to pick it up on Tuesday since they are closed on Monday. Tuesday is also when my son's glasses are in so we can kill two birds with one stone. Man I feel like its the first time they called and said that my bike would be ready to pick up, and when I got there it was still in the crate....ok I got there too early, but come on I was excited.

Did they give you any indication on why and how the part failed? That's what I what to know. I bet it's going to be a loooong weekend for you waiting until Tuesday, eh!?

No indication of why the part had a problem, but if I have to get this thing changed every 10 months through the 5 year warranty until they get it right, then I will. That my friends is exactly why I added the extra 4 years.

Yea but you know I am having fun riding the wife's XT 225. I did discover that her tires are not very good on grass, I did a couple of slides while taking off. But then again its a 50/50 tire, and will probably go at least 5000 miles.

yea

I still think that's pretty good, I called the bike shop on Friday, dropped it off on Saturday, diagnosed the same day, ordered the part, closed on Monday and fixed on Friday. I mean it couldn't have been faster unless they had the part on the shelf, and even then I doubt it.

When I saw that huge Yipee.. I knew it must be Deej. I'm curious if your noise started as a tapping and got worse? I mentioned last week that I notice a tap, not too bad. I just don't remember hearing it before. Is that how yours started Deej? Maybe I'm a hypochondriac?

I don't really remember but I can say that it seemed to get louder over a 2-3 week time period. Does the ticking/tapping sound go away after it warms up?
