Yah, it's winter, so what..
Well these aren't sheet metal screws.. And I've tried knobbies in the snow before and there is absolutely zero traction.. I couldn't even move with them on. So, these have to be at least a LITTLE better, no??
And I won't be driving these on the street!!! Strictly deep snow and ice!

Larry what ever you call them cold cutters etc they are basically high deck height sheet metal screws that have been hardened, anodized and sharpened. They will work well on really hard packed snow and ice, but in deep snow, powder, etc don't expect too much improvement unless you can dig down through the loose snow and hook up on the packed base. At least thats been my experience. Also the quality of the snow has a big effect on your foward motion. I've ridden in "corn snow" in the spring in Flagstaff and had good traction, with just knobbies. I've also ridden in Michigan in the middle of winter and had poor traction even with screws. What ever be careful on pavement and dirt will just tear the "studs" out. But I'm glad your out there doing it I'd rather ride in almost any conditions than go to work.
Big storm rolling in! 10-15" expected from this afternoon to tomorrow morning..
I know that won't be good riding conditions, but it sure is fun to take the F150 out in that crap!!
Once it warms up and melts, then freezes again, I'm thinking there'll be enough of a nice base in the woods to use the screwed tires.. All done with the screws, just gotta mount them.
