Default WTF? K&N for 2009?

So I searched the K&N website trying to find a part number for a 2009 KLX250SF air filter and the only thing that would come up was an oil filter?

Is anyone running a K&N on a 2009? If so, what part number?

All I can find are Uni and Twin Air filters.... I dont have any experience with these... what is recommended?

Don't quote me on this, but...I'm betting the regular, older. filter will work.

Well, I had done a search and someone had emailed K&N to see if it would fit. K&N stated that it might, but didnt recommended trying it.

So I just dropped the coin to get the Twin Air air filter. Already ordered Dynojet jet kit, have Two Bros slip-on already installed, FMF PowerBomb will be delivered tomorrow, already did air injection removal with Bill Blues bock-off plate.

Next on the list.... 351 big bore kit!

The K&N for the '07 fits. Pain to install. Foamy is the easy route.

Roger that, I have a K&N for the previous generation ('06/'07) and I know all about it. I found if you put the back plate against the filter before you put it in the box helps. Put it against the filter, squeeze the filter vertically so it fits in and just wedge it down in there and get into place. Went alot easier that last time around. Hopefully that was understandable.

Glad you finally got that k&n to seat right Jason. Next cleaning it will be even easier. I like the kn on the klx......bang the f'er against a tree to knock off chunks and stick back in, but patience is required on the install the first few times......after that cake.

Sometimes I wonder why I thought it was hard.....but it was.

Yeah, I'm even thinking of taking a piece of rough sandpaper and hitting the bottom edge of the plate and the inside of the airbox....giving me an extra few thousandths of an inch...anything helps.

I'm still pro KN, just trying to figure what went wrong.
