Default Won't Shift - Help

Any input would be great.

I have had my bike for approx 6 months and love it. Slightly under powered but still having fun.

Here is the deal. Went to the desert this weekend and out of the blue 1-3 gear are now missing, bike won't downshift, no neutral etc.

Anyone had these type of problems? Going to take it in this week, looking to see if it is a simple fix, Should be under warranty.

Star shift? Has been problematic on previous models.

what year bike? if it's an 06 it's most likely the shift star.....easy fix. there's been a few recent post about this. do a search for the shift star and you'll see what we're talking about.

Any crashes or impacts? Any roots, rocks, or debris hit the shifter? Does it look damanged for defected in any way? The shifter lever is pretty soft, it could have bent, but I'd imagine you would have noticed that. How's your oil look? Keeping it changed?

I'd definately take it in to the dealer, that sounds bad... keep up updated.

Make sure that the shift lever isn't hitting the engine case when you try to shift.

+1 I had that issue. I had bent the shift lever and it was hitting the engine cover and not shifting into 2nd.

+2. Mine got bent in and took a slice out of my engine case. Had to fill it in with JBWeld.
