Default will the bike not run with no bat power?

I have an issue that is in the "surge at 6500" page but my big question is will the bike not run with no bat power? Anything I ever had that was carb would always run by jump starting it. This bike dosen't seem to work at all when the bat is dead?

You need enough battery to make spark.

I thought the motor running would generate enough spark to keep it going?

I would think so too. I have a small 4 wheeler that has electric start only and the battery is completely dead and it will run after jump starting. So I don’t think the KLX is any different. Lots of dirt bikes run without batteries, just kick start and ride.

Yes, it will run without the battery. You can even bump start it with no battery. Your stator makes enough juice just by spinning to start/keep the motor running. It takes very little electricity to make a spark.

The battery is only there for the electrics when the bike is NOT running. The e-start, lights, etc.

Yah that wouldn't be the battery.

I've started mine, then swapped batteries while still running - it definitely runs with no battery.

I would look more into the plug itself, the stator, and make sure fuel is flowing.

If it runs then you had better chase it.

None of my previous lighted dirt bikes had batteries. Your kick would make enough juice to provide the spark to start the bike.
